The 2022 cross country season was the most challenging of my entire life.

I was running at the NCAA Division II level for Mississippi College and had spent the whole summer in Lynchburg, Virginia, prepping for the season.

We trained hard in hopes of becoming one of the top schools in Division II that fall. From May to October, we showed up more than ever, and the results reflected it.

However, the week before the regional meet, I got the flu and was down pretty bad for about a month. Nationals rolled around 2 weeks later, and I had one of the worst performances of my entire life.

I was devastated and from that point forward decided to become more intentional about my actions, in hopes of bouncing back for the indoor track season.

I'd wake up at 5 AM every day, cold plunge, head to practice, work hard, lift, eat, sleep, and repeat. I wanted to come back stronger than before.

I adopted the motto of Intentions Over Everything, which served as a reminder to be intentional about my actions, not simply going through the motions, but taking meaningful action every day.

That track season was one of the most successful of my career, and during it, I started OE Athletics.

The OE stands for Over Everything and is the latter half of the motto "Intentions Over Everything."
